Science light workshop

27th September 2016

Class Four were very lucky to take part in a science light workshop all morning. At first, the whole school enjoyed a science assembly which involved great magic tricks as well as learning about how we see colours.

To begin with Class Four learnt about how white light is dispersed by a prism into the colours of the visible spectrum by creating their own spectroscopes. In the second half of the session they were able to learn how we can effectively reflect light to our advantage using a periscope. They had great fun creating their own messages for their friends to work out.

Tony Charles, the specialist scientist who ran the workshop, commented “I had a fabulous morning yesterday with Class 4 investigating light, and I was most impressed by the pupils' focus and their desire to experiment".
