Welcome to a brand new week class 3 and we have some changes to look forward to.

This week you will starting a new challenge all about art and poetry. We will continue to follow the tasc wheel model to help us structure our learning journey and I will be modelling what this could look like in your journals.

This week's maths is separate and is not linked to the main challenge. We will be using White Rose this week to support our maths learning. They have some fantastic tutorials and support work to help you. Year 3, some of this will be completely new to you so take your time and go over things as many times as you need to. The great thing about these videos is that you can rewind, pause and watch again until you understand and there are great visuals to support too. Year 4, we did some work on fractions last year so some of this should be revision for you and I will be giving you challenges to take your learning a step or two further in line with the year 4 curriculum. It is always best to go over what we have done already, before we start moving forwards, to make sure we don't have any gaps in our learning.

Every morning there will be guided reading to complete. There will be a text linked to our English learning with questions to answer. Then there will be a video going over the answers so you can mark your work. There is also a daily story to listen to and this will be read by various teachers from across year 3 and 4 in the Federation. Listening to stories is so much fun and I hope you enjoy the book we have chosen for you. Remember you need to be reading your own books every day too just like you would be if we were in school.

On Friday you need to practise your singing having a go at the songs we have been learning with Mrs Hunt from school. There is page dedicated to the songs from school on the curriculum page.

I'm really looking forward to seeing what you do this week and your fantastic art and poetry creativity.

On a different note, Ethan in class 2 has been inspired by the following article https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-beds-bucks-herts-52303859

As a result, Ethan is going to run 100 laps around his garden to raise money for the NHS to fight the Coronavirus. Please let me know if this is something that you would like to join in with too :) I think this is a fantastic idea - well done Ethan!

Best Wishes
