Your choice of PE activity

OR

Take part in our cross-country competition!  Today marks the date where we would usually be taking part in our local derby race at Chiddingstone school.

To mark the occasion, the cross-country team would like to challenge all children to run/jog either 1km or 2km (your choice).

The teachers will award raffle tickets to anyone who takes part, and Mrs Murray has a special prize for the best effort and a prize for the cheeriest photo.

All you have to do is: choose your distance, complete the challenge, then post a photo below with a brief description of the course and conditions (eg were there any hills? was it muddy? what was the weather like?). you have 1 week to get your entries in on our Facebook page!

9:30-9:45

Mental Arithmetic

Year 2 – Please play on TTRockstars or 'hit the button'

Year 1 – We have been focusing on the pairs of numbers which make 10 but this week we are going to move on to practising answering any addition and subtraction up to 10 quickly!

When you play ‘hit the button’ this week https://www.topmarks.co.uk/maths-games/hit-the-button, please select ‘number bonds’ then ‘addition within 10’. For an extra challenge this week you can choose ‘addition within 20’ but remember it is all about speed. You need to be able to answer any addition/ subtraction to 10 without hesitation first.

9:45-10.15

Experience

Experience

To understand how exercise effects the body

  1. I can say which parts of the body each exercise is working
  2. I can try out the exercises to test to see if I can feel that part of my body working

Today we are going to fill out the last box in the plan. You can use google to help you research which parts of the body are being worked by each exercise or you can use your own knowledge from Monday’s lesson to support you. You might find they all support the same parts of the body.

10.15-10.30 Breaktime - have a healthy snack and play.
10.30-11

Reading –

Oxford Owl have made available for parents all the ebooks linked to each RWI level. This means we no longer need to upload the books to the webpage. Instead, please go to the webpage below. If you go onto ‘ebooks’ then you will need to register (this is free of charge) and then you will be able to access all the ebooks and choose the correct banded level for your child. Please note that the RWI phonics scheme is based on lots of repetition. Therefore, we usually read the same book about 3 or 4 times before moving onto a new book. For some children they may need to read it more than this to ensure they are completely fluent in reading the book (no sounding out).

Here is the link for the Oxford Owl reading.

This website also provides lots of other information for parents about phonics. It has other resources on here too should you wish to explore!

 For every phonics session, please continue to watch the set 3 speed sounds at 10:30 on the Ruth Miskin Youtube channel. Then read a book from the webpage detailed above.

Guided reading –  for those of you in guided reading, please complete the guided reading task on ‘The Dragon Sitter’

11-11.15 2nd Breaktime - have a healthy snack and play.
11.15- 12.15

To be able to create a pictogram

  2. I can set out the table for the pictogram
  3. I can draw pictures to represent my data

Using your data from yesterday, create a pictogram. Look at my tutorial video to show you how to do that.

1.15-3

Experience – ‘A year of change’

To apply my understanding of exercise to create an exercise video

  1. I can say why exercise is important
  2. I can demonstrate different exercises
  3. I can explain which parts of the body are being worked by each exercise

This afternoon, you are going to use your plan to help you practise your exercise video (we are not going to record it yet!!) In order to practise your video, write yourself a script using your plan to help you. I have attached my script to the webpage as an example.

Start by introducing the video (using the notes you made on your plan. What exercises are you going to do and why is exercise important?)

Then go through each exercise but remember to explain what you are doing, how you do it and which areas of the body it is working.

The more you practise, the more confident you will become when it comes to recording your video tomorrow!

3-3:15
