Take part in our cross-country competition!  Today marks the date where we would usually be taking part in our local derby race at Chiddingstone school.

To mark the occasion, the cross-country team would like to challenge all children to run/jog either 1km or 2km (your choice).

The teachers will award raffle tickets to anyone who takes part, and Mrs Murray has a special prize for the best effort and a prize for the cheeriest photo.

All you have to do is: choose your distance, complete the challenge, then post a photo below with a brief description of the course and conditions (eg were there any hills? was it muddy? what was the weather like?). you have 1 week to get your entries in on our Facebook page!

9:30 – 9:50

No guided reading today.

If you are a lexia person you need to make sure you complete lexia during this time. If not, then do Spellodrome.

Today is the day for us to create our very own exercise video! Before we rush into making this, there are a few things we need to do. Before recording, you will need to practise your routine. Make sure you know what you are going to say at each part and practise putting it altogether. You could practise in front of the mirror or with a member of your family!

Again I would like to remind you that for each exercise you should be talking through how to do it, including key teaching points e.g. press ups keeping your back straight.

I am really looking forward to seeing all of your exercise videos! By the end of the weekend I’m sure I will be a lot fitter after trying them all out!

order fractions

I am not going to set the extra challenge this week as some of you were beginning to struggle. This lesson goes back to ordering fractions.

If you want to do a bit extra, I have set some fractions work on MyMaths which goes over your prior learning and consolidates this current learning. It is on there for the week so only do a maximum of 2 activities per day.

12:15- 1:15

To evaluate my fitness video

SC1: I can identify what went well

SC2: I can identify what could have been improved

SC3: I can make suggestions about how I would do even better next time

As always, it is very important to evaluate and reflect on what has gone well and what could have been better. Use the questions below to help you reflect on your exercise video:

What went well?

What could have gone better?

What would you do differently next time?

Is there anything else you would add?

Did your plan help you with your video?

2:15- 2:40

Exercise – e.g. mindfulness yoga, fresh air in the garden, run up and down the stairs seeing if you can get faster every time!

2:40-3:00

IDL numeracy assessment – see how many questions you can do. Can you get even further than last time?

3:00 – 3:15
