Learning

9-9:30

Joe Wicks virtual PE – bodycoachtv on youtube.com

9:30 – 9:50

If you are a Lexia person you must complete Lexia during this time instead of guided reading.

Those of you doing the guided reading, there are questions related specifically to understanding the text and there is a n activity based around a SPaG focus. Try to complete both if you can but if you run out of time do not worry. Where the questions are about the text, there is the letter AF and a number at the end. This just identifies which reading skill is being focussed on and is nothing for you to worry about. The answers are at the bottom of the sheet so that you can mark your work.

9:50-10:30

LO: to compare and order angles up to 180 degrees.

SC1: I can identify acute and obtuse angles.

SC2: I can compare and order angles up to 180 degrees.

Angle Sort: Sort the angles shown on the Lesson Presentation into acute, obtuse or right angles by posting into the correct letter box.

Angle Prove It! Which of these angles are acute: 180 degrees, 33 degrees or 95 degrees? Why?

Ordering Angles: order a set of angles using the known facts that a right angle is 90 degrees, an acute angle is less than 90 degrees and an obtuse angle is more than 90 degrees. An angle measuring 180 degrees is a straight angle.

Comparing Signs: We can write mathematical sentences using the < and > signs to compare angles up to 180 degrees.

Order the Angles Activity: Choose your challenge. 1 star is the easiest and 3 star is the hardest. If you choose a challenge and it is too hard, don’t finish it, swap to an easier one. Similarly, if you choose one that is too easy, swap to a harder one. Think about which star challenge I normally give you at school.

If you finish this and you want an extension, I have added one but do not spend ages doing this. Only do the extension is you have time. This will really work on your justification and reasoning which is a very important part of your maths curriculum. Year 4 you should definitely give this a go if you have time.

Odd Angle Out: Looking at the sets of angles on the Lesson Presentation, identify and explain which angle is the odd one out of each set.

10:30-11:00

Break time/snack time

11:00 – 11:45

LO: to create a chronological report

SC1: I can sequence a series of photos into chronological order

SC2: I can give simple instruction for each step

SC3: I can add additional information where relevant

Use the photos that you took yesterday of you planting and create a sequence of steps with information that others could follow. Firstly, you need to organise your photos in order. This could be in any way you want, a snake, a list, a table etc. You might need to use more than one page. Then add individual instruction for each stage. Keep it simple and use your instructional language. Time connectives will be important here. Then finally, add any top tips that would be useful for the reader to use.

When you have completed your work celebrate your achievement! Share it with somebody. You could take a photo and send it to someone, scan it in and email it to someone. Don’t forget to share it with me too and the best ones will go on the website.

11:45- 12:15

TTRockstars

Make sure you do at least one sound check and one studio session. Try to get as many right as you can in the fastest time possible. Remember you want to be aiming for less than 6 seconds to answer a question correctly.

You Choose!

Its Friday afternoon and you have been working very hard so here are some options for you to choose from. I want you to focus on your wellbeing and feeling good in yourself.

  1. Find a nice quiet place where you can relax and read a book (a bit like we did in our book corner – I love to snuggle up with a good book)
  2. Download the mindfulness colouring I have attached and spend some time calming your mind and doing this relaxing activity
  3. mindfulness yoga – there are some great tutorials on YouTube about how to do this
  4. go back to the activity you chose to become an expert at and see how you are doing at achieving this, practise some more so you get that little bit closer

Enjoy the time making yourself feel good. It is really important you take the time to look after yourself and keep your body and mind healthy. Parents if you are able to join in, that would be great!

2:00- 2:30

Exercise – e.g. fresh air in the garden, run up and down the stairs seeing if you can get faster every time!

2:30-3:00

Music  Mrs Hunt (our music leader) has uploaded music videos to our website (curriculum – music). Every Friday afternoon we would like the children to practise the songs.
Mrs Hunt will be uploading new ones every now and then. The idea is that when we get back to school, we can have a celebratory singing concert. If your child would like to record themselves singing, please email clips to Mrs Chloe Hunt at: chunt@four-elms.kent.sch.uk. The clips will then be collated into a video.

3:00 – 3:15
