Have a go at any one of the many amazing fitness videos that the children of Four Elms created last week.

9:30 – 9:50

If you are a Lexia person you must complete Lexia during this time instead of guided reading.

Those of you doing the guided reading, there are questions related specifically to understanding the text and there is a n activity based around a SPaG focus. Try to complete both if you can but if you run out of time do not worry. Where the questions are about the text, there is the letter AF and a number at the end. This just identifies which reading skill is being focussed on and is nothing for you to worry about. The answers are at the bottom of the sheet so that you can mark your work.

9:50-10:30

LO: to draw and describe 2D shapes.

SC1: I can name 2D shapes with 5, 6 and 8 sides.

SC2: I can draw 2D shapes.

SC3: I can describe the properties of different 2D shapes.

Introducing More Shapes: Introduce the shapes pentagon, hexagon and octagon. Match descriptions to the shape on the Lesson Presentation.

Secret Shapes: If you have someone to help you, one partner secretly draws shapes to create a simple picture. They describe the position and properties of the shapes to their partner who tries to create the same picture using the information they are being given. Compare the original to the one your partner drew.

Drawing 2D Shapes: Choose your challenge. 1 star is the easiest and 3 star is the hardest. If you choose a challenge and it is to hard, don’t finish it, swap to an easier one. Similarly, if you choose one that is too easy, swap to a harder one. Think about which star challenge I normally give you at school.

If you finish this and you want an extension, I have added one but do not spend ages doing this. Only do the extension is you have time. This will really work on your justification and reasoning which is a very important part of your maths curriculum. Year 4 you should definitely give this a go if you have time.

Shape Detective: If you have someone you can work with, look at the shape pictures on the Lesson Presentation. One person secretly selects one of the pictures. The other person asks questions using mathematical vocabulary to find out which of the pictures they are thinking of.

10:30-11:00

Break time/snack time

11:00 – 11:45

LO: to recall that humans and animals get nutrition from what they eat and understand that we can sort them using this information

SC1: I can explain what an herbivore is and identify examples

SC2: I can describe what a carnivore eats and identify examples

SC3: I can locate omnivores and suggest what they eat

Today we start by thinking about diet and nutrition. What is diet? Our diet is everything that we eat and drink. What is Nutrition? It means nourishment or in other words, the food and drink we need to stay healthy.  As experts on nutrition and diet we need to understand what humans and animals naturally eat. You may know some of this already but it’s good to recap! Follow the BBC Bitesize link above. This is revise our prior learning about humans and animals and what they eat.  https://www.bbc.co.uk/bitesize/topics/z6882hv/articles/z96vb9q Read the information and watch the film clips on – What types of food do animals eat? And What is a food chain? So now we’ve learnt that all animals and humans have a diet that suits them and we can sort animals according to whether they are carnivores, herbivores or omnivores. Look at the picture cards that show what something eats. Sort them into herbivores, omnivores and carnivores.

11:45- 12:15

TTRockstars

Make sure you do at least one sound check and one studio session. Try to get as many right as you can in the fastest time possible. Remember you want to be aiming for less than 6 seconds to answer a question correctly.

12:15- 1:15

Lunch

1:15- 2:00

LO: to understand what a healthy balanced diet should include

SC1: I can list the different food groups comprising of a healthy diet

SC2: I can explain how much of each I should have to be healthy

SC3: I can sort food from my cupboards into the correct food groups

All of us need to eat the right types and right amounts of nutrition if we are to stay healthy. Let’s first find out about the different types of food. Watch the film clip. https://www.bbc.co.uk/bitesize/clips/zytjmp3 Which food groups did Amanda mention? Carbohydrates, proteins, sugars and fats. Let’s find out a bit more about them. Have a look at the food groups PowerPoint to find out about the main food groups. We saw the eat well plate when Steve was in from Charlton Athletic. Your task is to create your own eat well plate. Draw around a plate from your cupboard and split it into the sections from the PowerPoint. Make sure they are approximately the right size in proportion to how much of each we should eat. Then go through your cupboard and see what foods you have. Sort them into the correct places on your plate. You will be using this information tomorrow when we begin to think about what meal we could make.

2:00- 2:30

Exercise – e.g. mindfulness yoga, fresh air in the garden, run up and down the stairs seeing if you can get faster every time!

2:30-3:00

Word Wall

Have a go at the activity about prepositions. If you get less than 8 have another go until you get 8 or more.
