9:30 – 9:50

If you are a Lexia person you must complete Lexia during this time instead of guided reading.

Those of you doing the guided reading, there are questions related specifically to understanding the text and there is an activity based around a SPaG focus. Try to complete both if you can but if you run out of time do not worry. Where the questions are about the text, there is the letter AF and a number at the end. This just identifies which reading skill is being focussed on and is nothing for you to worry about. The answers are at the bottom of the sheet so that you can mark your work.

9:50-10:30

LO: to compare and classify different types of triangles.

SC1: I know the name and properties of different types of triangle.

SC2: I can compare triangles based on their properties.

SC3: I can classify triangles based on their properties.

2D Shape Quiz: work through the quiz on the Lesson Presentation, answering multiple choice questions which introduce and rehearse different 2D shapes.

Comparing Triangles: think of all the ways in which the triangles displayed are different, and ways in which they are the same.

Tricky Triangles: the 2D shape classification of ‘triangle’ can be further classified into different types of triangle based upon the properties of length and angle. Make notes in your book on the different types of triangle to remind yourself when it comes to the activity (right angle, equilateral, isosceles and scalene).

Comparing triangle activity - Choose your challenge. 1 star is the easiest and 3 star is the hardest. If you choose a challenge and it is to hard, don’t finish it, swap to an easier one. Similarly, if you choose one that is too easy, swap to a harder one. Think about which star challenge I normally give you at school.

If you finish this and you want an extension, I have added one but do not spend ages doing this. Only do the extension is you have time. This will really work on your justification and reasoning which is a very important part of your maths curriculum. Year 4 you should definitely give this a go if you have time.

Guess My Triangle: Looking at the selection of different triangles displayed on the Lesson Presentation, one person tries to deduce which triangle the other is thinking of by asking questions about its mathematical properties.

10:30-11:00

Break time/snack time

11:00 – 11:45

LO: to research examples of healthy balanced meals

SC1: I can use my knowledge of balanced meals to select appropriate recipes

SC2: I can collect a variety of recipes to use as inspiration

Have a look at the lesson presentation to remind yourself of the various food groups and what a balanced meal looks like. Now you need to research examples of healthy balanced meals. You could use recipe books, the internet or knowledge from people that you know (parents, relatives, friends – even chefs if you know one!) At the moment you don’t need to worry about if you have the ingredients to be able to make it, you are simply gathering ideas that you can borrow parts of when you design your own meal.

Collect the information you find and present in an interesting way. You could take photos, annotate them and stick them in, print off recipe ideas, write them out by hand and decorate – it is completely up to you.

You will be drawing on this research to plan and design your own healthy balanced meal from the items you have in your house.

11:45- 12:15

TTRockstars

Make sure you do at least one sound check and one studio session. Try to get as many right as you can in the fastest time possible. Remember you want to be aiming for less than 6 seconds to answer a question correctly.

12:15- 1:15

Lunch

1:15- 2:00

Generate – how many ideas can you think of?

LO: To generate ideas for cooking a balanced healthy meal

SC1) I can decide what options I have for a meal

SC2) I can record ideas about what I can cook

Now you know what a healthy balanced meal, you know what ingredients you have in your house and you have researched ideas of what you could make. You need to think carefully about the cooking skills involved and who you have to help you. Safety is of paramount importance so make sure you speak to an adult when you are coming up with your ideas. You don’t want to create a Gordon Ramsey masterpiece and not be able to create it because it is too dangerous!

Use an interesting way to display all the possibilities you have for a balanced healthy meal using the ingredients you have in your home. Make sure you think carefully about your presentation and making it look colourful and eye catching.

When you have generated all the possibilities, think carefully and discuss which one you will do. You will need the permission of the adult in your house to do this so make sure they agree with your selection.

2:00- 2:30

Exercise – e.g. mindfulness yoga, fresh air in the garden, run up and down the stairs seeing if you can get faster every time!

2:30-3:00

Word wall

https://wordwall.net/play/1902/076/857

Have a go at matching all the words to the correct word groups/types.

3:00 – 3:15
