Learning

9-9:30

Joe Wicks virtual PE – bodycoachtv on youtube.com

9:30 – 9:50

If you are a Lexia person you must complete Lexia during this time instead of guided reading.

Those of you doing the guided reading, there are questions related specifically to understanding the text and there is a n activity based around a SPaG focus. Try to complete both if you can but if you run out of time do not worry. Where the questions are about the text, there is the letter AF and a number at the end. This just identifies which reading skill is being focussed on and is nothing for you to worry about. The answers are at the bottom of the sheet so that you can mark your work.

9:50-10:30

Problem solving - Can you find the twelve tangram triangles?

LO: to solve a tangram puzzle using 2D shapes.

SC1: I can name and draw 2D shapes.

SC2: I can describe the properties of different 2D shapes

Beginning: The Tangram

Display the tangram square shown on the Lesson Presentation and find out what a tangram is. Using the Tangram Square Resource Sheet, cut up the tangram puzzle and identify and describe the properties of the seven shapes.

Confirm the identity and properties of the seven shapes using the summary included on the Lesson Presentation. Manipulate the shapes in different ways, rotating and flipping them as needed. If required, use the Triangle Tangrams Clues Sheet, which gives one or two pieces in each triangle as a starting point.

Preparing: Creating New Shapes

The aim of the tangram puzzle is to rearrange the pieces of the square to create new shapes. Using the examples shown on the Lesson Presentation, explore rearranging your own tangrams shapes into different triangles. The challenge is finding all the different triangles that can be created using any arrangement of up to seven of the tangram shapes.

Exploring: Triangle Tangrams

Investigate the twelve different triangles that can be made by using any arrangement of up to seven of the tangram shapes cut from the Tangram Square Resource Sheet. Record the triangles as you make them on the Tangram Triangles Activity Sheet.

Reviewing: The Twelve Tangram Triangles

Have a look at the triangle you managed to find with the answers. Were some triangles harder to find than others?

10:30-11:00

Break time/snack time

11:00 – 11:45

Evaluate – what went well and what could be improved?

LO: to evaluate the healthy balanced meal I cooked

SC1: I can consider what I like about cooking/recipe

SC2: I can consider what improvements I could make to my recipe/cooking

A really important part of our learning journey is looking back at what we have done and thinking about what went well and what could be improved. We need to take what was good and use it in the future and reflect on what we need to develop further to become the best we can be at something. I have attached a copy of my evaluation for you to have a look at.

Evaluating yourself is usually done best in discussion with someone who knows you and knows what you did. Use these question to guide your writing and your evaluation.

What did I achieve?

Did I meet the requirements of the task?

How well did I do it?

What were the successes?

What did other people say was particularly good? Was it the same as what I thought?

What could I have done better?

How could I have done it better?

What do I need to do to help me do it better next time?

11:45- 12:15

TTRockstars

Make sure you do at least one sound check and one studio session. Try to get as many right as you can in the fastest time possible. Remember you want to be aiming for less than 6 seconds to answer a question correctly.

12:15- 1:15

Lunch

1:15- 2:00

You Choose!

Its Friday afternoon and you have been working very hard so here are some options for you to choose from. I want you to focus on your wellbeing and feeling good in yourself.

  1. Find a nice quiet place where you can relax and read a book (a bit like we did in our book corner – I love to snuggle up with a good book)
  2. Download the mindfulness colouring I have attached and spend some time calming your mind and doing this relaxing activity
  3. mindfulness yoga – there are some great tutorials on YouTube about how to do this
  4. go back to the activity you chose to become an expert at and see how you are doing at achieving this, practise some more so you get that little bit closer

Enjoy the time making yourself feel good. It is really important you take the time to look after yourself and keep your body and mind healthy. Parents if you are able to join it 0 that would be great!

2:00- 2:30

Exercise – e.g. fresh air in the garden, run up and down the stairs seeing if you can get faster every time!

2:30-3:00

Music  Mrs Hunt (our music leader) has uploaded music videos to our website (curriculum – music). Every Friday afternoon we would like the children to practise the songs.
Mrs Hunt will be uploading new ones every now and then. The idea is that when we get back to school, we can have a celebratory singing concert. If your child would like to record themselves singing, please email clips to Mrs Chloe Hunt at: chunt@four-elms.kent.sch.uk. The clips will then be collated into a video.

3:00 – 3:15
