These are the words set by the government so you are assessed on these. Take your time and make sure you know them.

This week we will be using Oak Academy to help our learning.

Click on the link below to complete the lesson. You will do a quiz to see what you already know, watch a tutorial and complete activities. There will be far less printing and at the beginning of each session they will tell you what resources you need. Let me know if you need anything.

Our ideas will take on a slightly different format to normal. Usually we generate our ideas once we have researched and developed our knowledge on a subject. However, because you are looking at something completely generated by yourself, we will have to take a slightly different journey to help us identify what it is we want to do.

You are going to be able to choose a topic on whatever you want to create your project. You can do this in any way you want to but you need to start by creating as many ideas as possible. Have a look at my example to see how I have done it. I have thought about big areas to look at like the Egyptians, and also more specific ideas like the anniversary of the Apollo rescue mission.

Use an interesting way to display all the possibilities you have for a project that will last you the next 2 weeks. Make sure you think carefully about your presentation and making it look colourful and eye catching.

You don’t need to choose your favourite idea yet as your ideas might change as you think about what it is you need to have as your outcome.

Today you are going to generate as many ideas as you can about what your outcomes could be. An outcome is the final product as the end of an experience. This might be art work, models, presentations etc. You must have 2 parts to your outcome. One must focus on the English curriculum e.g. writing, speaking etc and the other will focus on foundation subjects e.g. art, ICT etc.

As you can see below I have come up with ideas that are related to my project ideas. Think of as many as you can so you have plenty to choose from.

2:00- 2:30

Exercise – e.g. mindfulness yoga, fresh air in the garden, run up and down the stairs seeing if you can get faster every time!

2:30-3:00

LO: to decide on project focus and explain what the task is

SC1: to choose one project idea and the outcomes for this

SC2: I can explain what it is that I will need to achieve by the end of this challenge

SC3: I can identify what things I may need to do or know in order to be able to do this

The final part of this afternoon is to decide what your final idea is for your project. Remember to keep it specific otherwise your project could get very big and you only have 2 weeks to complete this. Once you have decided on your project focus and what your outcomes for this you need to articulate this using a page from your book/learning journal. Due to the fact that you will all have different ideas for your projects, this is very difficult for me to model for you. However, I have taken pictures and put them below of the ‘identify the task’ pages from our previous challenges and you can use these to structure your thinking and layout.
