LO: to know how to punctuate direct speech accurately SC1: I can punctuate direct speech correctly using inverted commas SC1: I can use commas and capital letters accurately in direct speech SC3: I can start a new line for each change of speaker Watch the tutorial looking at Chapter 7 and how to accurately punctuate direct speech. ACTIVITY: Look at the sheet: In Conversation with Mr Stink. The dialogue punctuation and layout need to be improved. Read the dialogue and edit to show what changes need to be made (including starting a new line). Lay out the dialogue with a new line for each new speaker. (Dialogue will be a focus in your own story writing to practise this carefully.) Make sure you write it out neatly, beginning new lines for each speaker change and punctuating correctly. You choose your challenge. You can either choose one of the extracts or you can try and complete both. Use pink pen to mark the right answers and green to correct your mistakes. Art Project
LO: to improve mastery of art and design techniques, including drawing and painting. To know about great artists in history. SC1: I can find out more about a particular artist of my choice SC2: I can use information to create my own factfile/ info page SC3: I can replicate my chosen artists’ work using drawing or painting Today we will be focusing on artists who used shape in DRAWING and PAINTING. You could just use the information provided, or you could challenge yourself by doing some further research on your chosen artist (there is lots out there!). TASK 2: Use paint or any drawing materials (colouring pencils, sketching pencils, felt tips, markers etc.), have a go at experimenting with their style to create a piece of art that shows the use of shape or pattern. You could copy something they have done and replicate it, or just use inspiration from their work to create your own piece. |
