Art Project

PRINTING

As explained yesterday, we are going to continue researching and experimenting with different types of geometric art. Today we will be looking more closely at printing.

Task 1: On an A4 piece of paper/ document on your computer (your choice!) create a mood/ ideas board with images and information about geometric printing. You could include some of your favourite designs, the names of any famous printers, details about what materials are used, and anything else you discover that you’d like to add! See my attached example ‘Printing Mood/ Ideas Board’.

Task 2: Use your research to create your own geometric print. You could use paper, junk, vegetables (or other objects that are good for making a print), household objects (take a photo!) or anything you can think of! Remember your print could be tiny, medium or big, as long as it includes some geometry or repeating patterns, and this isn’t your final project so you don’t need to spend ages (unless you want to!) – it’s just a chance to try it out.
