Four Elms Primary School

2021 Ocean Project

On Thursday 4th and Friday 5th February, we would like you to work on the project which is attached at the bottom of this page.

Your project is to raise awareness of pollution in the ocean (e.g. plastic pollution) and suggest strategies to others for reducing pollution in the ocean.

We are so lucky to be joined by the author and illustrator of 'Hector's new Home' who will introduce the project to you:

The project is based on our Rights Respecting curriculum which aims to teach you about children's rights and will hopefully encourage you to be positive global citizen. The project also focuses on global goal 14 (life below water) which focuses on the sustainable development of seas and oceans. We hope that you will enjoy the project and will be empowered to make a difference to the world they live in.

We have broken down the stages of the project and provided resources to support you, however this is an opportunity for you to be creative and take your learning in a direction that interests you. Whilst we have broken down the stages of the TASC wheel to help support your thinking and planning, you do not have to use it if you find it unhelpful. Similarly the examples and links to websites, videos, stories and songs are there just as suggestions.

On this webapge and on your class page, you will find a writing checklist to help you to think about what to include.

If you have any questions about the project, please email your class teacher before Thursday 4th February.

We can't wait to see where your project takes you!
