Here is the tutorial for today’s guided reading session. The additional challenge- for 4 raffle tickets- is to create your own fact file on something to do with planet Earth. This can be about a volcano, or the weather or something else… but it must be factual and include at least one drawing! Refer back to the example texts on volcanoes and earthquakes for inspiration.

There are three common types of volcano
Volcanoes are amazing

Earthquakes always cause destruction

SC2: I can consider positives of my speech
SC3: I can reflect on improvements to make
Today you are going to reflect on your speech, and use your journals to think about what went well, what wasn’t so successful and how you would improve your speech next time. I have attached an example at the bottom of the page
Break time/snack time

Make sure you complete 2 studio sessions and 2 sound checks before going on the garage. Feel free to challenge me!
11:30 – 12:15
LO: To develop arithmetic skills
Firstly, revisit the ‘Topmarks’ website to practise the 7 times table on ‘Hit the button’ as well as on ‘Daily 10’. Remember on the ‘Daily 10’ to choose a level and then select multiplication, then which tables you want to practise.
SC1: I can work independently to time
SC2: I can apply skills I’ve learnt into a test
SC3: I can use different methods to help me answer questions
At the bottom of the page I have attached two arithmetic quizzes for you to print off and practise at home. The answers are attached for an adult to use to mark. If you make any mistakes, go back and correct what you have done.
1:15 - 2:00
LO: To develop my artwork into a final piece.
SC1: I can continue to work with recycled materials
SC2: I can present my final piece of art
SC3: I can reflect on the task
Use this time to finish your piece of recycled art. When you have finished, take a photo and send it to your teacher. Then use your journal to reflect on what went well, what you found hard and what you would do differently next time.
Exercise – e.g. mindfulness yoga, fresh air in the garden, run up and down the stairs seeing if you can get faster every time!
