|9.30-10.30||English (2020 challenge)|
I love hearing what you are all getting up to in PE. Well done to anyone trying the 100 lap challenge. I am now on lap 6.
L.O. To write effective similes and metaphors describing a stimulus.
SC1. I can effectively incorporate my metaphors and similes into a poem.
SC2. I can continue to write a 4 line stanza poem using rhyming couplets.
The shared stanza is:
As I look out of my window,
I long for the hugs and high fives,
But seeing the beauty of spring,
Reminds me nature is still alive.
Your three possible endings are:
1) This strange world lives on,
And so will we,
Four Elms is still there,
And hopefully one day soon,
That’s where we will all be.
2) So, don’t mourn for what is lost,
Think of what is gained,
A moment in history to live in,
Before life becomes the same.
3) So what do I miss?
Well I miss you.
But spring turns to summer,
And that’s is where I will be waiting,
See you all soon.
Step 1: Write out our shared stanza.
Step 2: Choose your favourite two similes and metaphors. Create one stanza which included the simile or metaphor, still using rhyming couplets.
Step 3: Try to write 2 more stanzas that include metaphors and similes about spring using rhyming couplets.
Step 4: Choose your ending (or all of them)- or write your own.
Step 5: Read your work out load to someone to edit it. Make sure you are using punctuation.
Step 6: Rewrite your whole poem out in best, handwritten or typed.
L.O. To confidently convert between decimals and fractions.
SC1. I can quickly and confidently convert between decimals and fractions.
Just 1 rule I forgot to mention, you can only pick up 1 card a time. Obviously I cheated a little bit.... whoops.
Lots of people struggled yesterday, but here is a positive poster made by our own Eloise to keep us going!
Mrs Hunt has added a new song for you onto our music page, hope you enjoy.
A bit of a longer story time today.
