Break time/snack time

Exercise – e.g. mindfulness yoga, fresh air in the garden, run up and down the stairs seeing if you can get faster every time!

You need to keep your body active so that your brain can keep active too.

11:00 – 12.00

LO: to confidently express and justify opinions

SC1: I can identify particular events in a text

SC1: I can explain and justify my thinking

SC3: I can give advice which is relative to the task/question

Watch my tutorial to find out what we are doing today.

For each task – green chilies you should work through with me in the video and I will guide you through the steps.

Orange chillies, if you would like a little more support then watch the green chili video but if you are confident then complete the tasks independently.

Red chilies, think carefully about your sentence structures and your language choices. Make sure you use evidence from the text to support your decision making and justifications.

Write a list of all of Ug’s ‘almost’ inventions.

Do you think he should give up on his invention or keep working on it - do you think that he should continue inventing or revert to his community’s traditional approach? Write a short speech bubble about your decision. Why have you chosen that decision? Make sure you give reasons that relate to the text.

Write a short note giving Ug some advice about what you think he should do. What do they think he should do and why? How might you sensitively address any worries he might have? Could you give him some different options that will support him in making his own mind up?
