Monday 11th May
This week was meant to be SAT's week, so I've decided we are going to do tests all day, every day! We are going to be starting with comprehension. The test is 3 hours long and you are not allowed any breaks.
ONLY JOKING!!!!! x
Before you start today go watch some of the brilliant exercise videos you have all created on last weeks celebration page.
We are back to normal this week, so whatever exercise you want to enjoy please use this time to do it. Great job on the challenge set by Mrs Murray. Please keep sending me pictures of you doing you runs.
Please go watch Mrs Mitchell and Miss Fermor's video first.
L.O. To solve problems involving decimals
SC1. I can solve reasoning involving addition and subtraction of decimals.
SC2. I can solve reasoning problems multiplying and dividing decimals by an integer.
There is no green, orange or red today; everyone has the same word questions. However, they do get progressively harder! Remember to use bus stop method and short and long multiplication when you can. Anyone who gets question 8 right will get an additional raffle ticket as it is particularly hard.
How we are recording our work this week has been inspired by the observation and documentation work used by Charles Darwin. So although we are not learning about evolution in this challenge, I wanted to introduce you to Charles Darwin through our comprehension activity this week. Please find the text and questions attached below.
L.O. To write an informal diary entry to document and observe
SC1. I can use informal language writing in the first person and present tense
For the second part of our challenge today we will be deciding what we want to try and grow and documenting our journey through a diary entry.
Have a look at the links below for ideas on what to grow.
I have attached my example diary entry below. You need to cover the following points
-What is the challenge?
-What are my thoughts about the challenge?
-What are my initial ideas?
You can include good quality sketches or photographs and I have attached a word bank to help you with some sentence starters.
