Sign Language Campaign

In relation to Article 2 the right to be treated fairly, we  started a campaign based on sign language. We have visited a couple of schools so far to share our message with them. We belive that we should be inclusive and sign langauge is a great way of including everyone, regardless of their differences.

Here is a message from Class 2 to tell you more:

Sign language is important because it can help you talk to deaf people. If someone in your family were deaf it would help you talk them. But sign language is not only for deaf people, if it were too noisy you could use sign language to talk to others. For some deaf people sign language is their only way to communicate. If you met a deaf person and you knew sign language you would be able to talk to them.

In class two we have been learning sign language, we have been learning how to say hello, goodbye, to answer the register and many more things. You may not know but many signs in sign language are the same so it is very important that you move your mouth and say the word when signing and to be clear with what you are signing.

If you would like to learn more of these signs you could use our video below. It can be fun to learn sign language and to tech it to other people or your family, so why not try it.
