Maths L.0- To understand how to solve reasoning questions about comparing, classifying and finding unknown angles in polygons. Success criteria: 1. I can identify the key information in a problem 2. I can break down a problem into key parts and identify the knowledge needed about polygons 3. I can use my knowledge of angles in polygons to solve problems Today you will be solving reasoning questions based on polygons and finding missing angles. The problems in each challenge become progressively harder. There is no new tutorial today as you have learnt all of this knowledge, you are now just applying it. Green- problems involving identifying missing angles in triangles Orange- Problems involving triangles an quadrilaterals including missing angles Red- Problems involving polygons including missing angles Additional support: Use the video tutorials from the week to remind yourself of the different types of angles and how to find missing angles. I have also uploaded some resources which say SUPPORT SHEET to help remind you of the knowledge we have developed this week. I have created a short tutorial which goes through the first question in the green challenge and the first question in the orange challenge to model to you how to answer the questions.
Extension: Create your own reasoning questions which involve the knowledge of missing angles in polygons. Make sure you send these through to me and I will try to include them in the quiz on Fri-yay! |

English- L.O: To show my understanding of the Arctic and Antarctica (show: applying) Success criteria: 1) I can explain the geographical similarities and difference between the Arctic and Antarctica 2) I can explain about historical polar explorers 3) I can use technical vocabulary
Task: Today is the last day to finish your guide to the Arctic and Antarctica. This is your third session on this task. Green Challenge: In your guide include at least: both the geographical features of the Arctic and Antarctica and about at least one polar explorer of your choice. Orange Challenge: In your guide include at least: An introduction to your guide, the similarities and difference between the Arctic and Antarctica, at least two polar explorers and another area of your choice. Red Challenge: In your guide, after your detailed introduction provide an extensive account of what you have learnt about the Arctic and Antarctica, focusing on the geographic features-comparing and contrasting them, historical expeditions, what is happening currently happening there-including the impact of climate change. You can also include an area of your choice if you wish.
