Well-being (Y5 from Mrs Brocker)

Dear Year 5,

Before we broke up for Christmas we had started the Balanced Thinking module. Please read pages 79 to 81 (attached below) and write out the first five questions on page 79. These questions help you become a more balanced thinker.

Extra task: Think of a problem and go through the questions and see if they are helpful.

Please keep your written work in a note book and bring back to school when we reopen. I will make sure all your work is stuck into your wellbeing books.

Thank you.
Mrs Brocker

Well- being (Y6 from Mrs Brocker)

Dear Children,

We are starting our new theme and it is all about resilience. I know you all have lots of this in abundance.

I would like you to read the attachment with your parents and write down 7 separate sentences to explain when you showed competence, confidence, connection, character, contribution, coping and control. An example of this would be;

I believe I show confidence in my maths lessons because I regularly ask lots of questions and finish my tasks on time with great accuracy.

This task should not take any longer than 30 minutes.

Please keep your answers in a note book. I expect you all to bring in your dated notes when you return to school. All of your work with then be stuck into your wellbeing books.

Thank you.
Mrs Brocker

Project- The World!

For the rest of this week we are going to be looking at The World! Since we can’t travel to it yet, let’s learn all about it so we are experts once we can!

To start off please play the following game to make sure your knowledge on the 7 continents of the world is correct. Keep playing until you get 7 out of 7!

Then I would like you to choose 1 of the continents to make a fact filled poster about. We are going to need these for our learning for the rest of the week so make sure they are clear, colourful and a filled with facts such as:

  • Their size
  • Their population
  • Mountains and rivers
  • Their largest country
  • Their smallest country
  • What kind of things to they export?
  • What is the climate?
  • What time is it there?
  • What oceans surround it?
  • What animals can you find there?

Some fun facts and anything else you find interesting. I have attached a some cards as a starting point if you need help.
