You choose! Guided reading activity, Spellodrome/Lexia! If you are a lexia person and you choose not to do guided reading you must do Lexia, not Spellodrome. If you do guided reading the answers are on my sheet and you can use these to see if yours match. Don’t worry if they are not exactly the same! |

Research LO: To understand the benefits of exercise SC1) I can appropriately research benefits of exercise SC2) I can name physical and mental benefits of exercise SC3) I can record my findings
This week’s challenge is to get moving in the comfort of our own homes and get some exercise. This week, you are being asked to make your very own exercise video. Watch the challenge video below:
Today, we are going to be researching the benefits of exercise. We would like you to research both the physical benefits and the mental benefits. You can present your finding in any way you wish – either as a poster, mindmap, a paragraph or even a PowerPoint. |

https://whiterosemaths.com/homelearning/year-3/ Equivalent fractions
I am not going to set the extra challenge this week as some of you were beginning to struggle. This lesson goes back to equivalent fractions. I have put a fraction wall on the webpage to help you and these are great for identifying where 2 different fractions are worth the same amount e.g. 2/4 and ½. If you want to do a bit extra, I have set some fractions work on MyMaths which goes over your prior learning and consolidates this current learning. It is on there for the week so only do a maximum of 2 activities per day. |

Research Exercise Videos LO: To note take while watching videos SC1) I can identify the features of an exercise video SC2) I can decide which information to record SC3) I can list similarities and differences of different exercise videos
Today in English, we are going to work on our note taking skills. We would like you to go on YouTube, or any other place that you can access exercise videos (e.g. DVD, app etc) and watch some exercise videos. As you are watching these, we would like you to take notes in your journal of different features of exercise videos. You may want to record similarities, differences and features you would like to include in your own exercise video. |
2:15- 2:40 |
Exercise – e.g. mindfulness yoga, fresh air in the garden, run up and down the stairs seeing if you can get faster every time! |
2:40-3:00 |
How many ideas can I think of? LO: To generate ideas for an exercise video SC1) I can decide the style of exercise video I would like to make SC2) I can record ideas for my video SC3) I can choose my favourite idea and justify my choice
Today we are going to think of some ideas of what we could include in our own exercise video. Are you going to focus on general exercise where you complete many exercises for a short amount of time? E.g. press ups, star jumps, burpees etc. Or are you going to focus on different forms of exercise for one sport? E.g. boxing. There are many exercise video on Youtube for all ages. Is yours going to be aimed at children, adults or even the elderly? What is the purpose of the exercise e.g. flexibility, strength, stamina. We would like you to record all of your ideas in your journals. Again, this should be recorded just like you would in your reflective journals – using writing pictures and loads of colour! After you have thought of different ideas for your exercise video, we would like you to choose one idea. After you have chosen the one you are going to go with, we would like you to write a few sentences why you have gone with this idea. |
