We are continuing our learning this week and we will be covering the following:
In Maths we will: draw 2-D shapes and make 3-D shapes using modelling materials; recognise 3-D shapes in different orientations describing them and compare and classify geometric shapes, including quadrilaterals and triangles, based on their properties and sizes. They will be able to identify lines of symmetry in 2-D shapes presented in different orientations and create patterns using shapes.
In art they will: learn how to improve their mastery of art and design techniques, including drawing and painting. They will learn about great artists, architects and designers in history.
In English - by the end of this unit of work the children will be writing stories to similar to that which they have read. They will rehearse reading them aloud and then record them to be used as our end of the day story. The learning objectives will cover understanding how to create interesting characters, linking character/setting/plot through planning and to punctuate and use dialogue appropriately.
If you need any help or support at all, please do not hesitate to get in contact. :)
