Take part in our cross-country competition!  Today marks the date where we would usually be taking part in our local derby race at Chiddingstone school.

To mark the occasion, the cross-country team would like to challenge all children to run/jog either 1km or 2km (your choice).

The teachers will award raffle tickets to anyone who takes part, and Mrs Murray has a special prize for the best effort and a prize for the cheeriest photo.

All you have to do is: choose your distance, complete the challenge, then post a photo below with a brief description of the course and conditions (eg were there any hills? was it muddy? what was the weather like?). you have 1 week to get your entries in on our Facebook page!

9:30 – 9:50

You choose!

Guided reading activity, Spellodrome/Lexia! If you are a lexia person and you choose not to do guided reading you must do Lexia, not Spellodrome.

If you choose to do the guided reading the answers are attached to the guided reading sheet which is all about Teeth! Mark your work when you are done. Remember, if you don’t complete it all in the time do not worry – just do what you can in the time that you have.

9:50-10:30

You should have an idea of what type of video you would like to create and what content you would like to include. Today, we will be planning what our video will look like. During this time, you need to think about:

  1. Style
  2. Different exercises you want to include
  3. How long is each exercise going to be?
  4. How long is the video overall?

Make sure you record your plan in your journal. This will help you when you create the video tomorrow. Have a look below at my example.

Once you have created your plan, make sure you have a practise at the different exercises you have set. Make sure you are able to do each exercise yourself as you will be showing others what to do. If you are finding it tricky to do an exercise, either practise yourself or choose another!

The exercises you choose need to be done well. There may be things you need to point out when completing an exercise e.g. for a press up, arms need to be fully straight at the top and back need to remain straight.

Here are some more examples for inspiration:

I am not going to set the extra challenge this week as some of you were beginning to struggle. This lesson goes back to comparing fractions.

If you want to do a bit extra, I have set some fractions work on MyMaths which goes over your prior learning and consolidates this current learning. It is on there for the week so only do a maximum of 2 activities per day.

12:15- 1:15

Lunch

1:15- 2:15

LO: To create a script

SC1) I can create an overall script for my video

SC2) I can learn what I am going to say in my video

SC3) I can practise my script in front of an audience

Today, we are going to writing a ‘script’ to follow when we present our own exercise videos. You should already have planned your exercise video and know exactly what you would like to do.

For this lesson, we would like you to look at your plan and think about what you would like to say at each section. This might include how you are going to introduce each section to the viewer, key points you would like to make, how you are going to introduce the whole video and how you are going to end the whole video.

When you feel confident, practise your script in front of a mirror or a family member.

2:15- 2:40

Exercise – e.g. mindfulness yoga, fresh air in the garden, run up and down the stairs seeing if you can get faster every time!

2:40-3:00

Practise! Practise! Practise!

Once you have decided what you would like to say for each section, practice your script. During the filming of the video, it would look good if you knew what you were going to say. If possible we would like to try to avoid reading when recording a video!

3:00 – 3:15
